You deserve thoughtful, inclusive support.
I’m Pamela Tessmann, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Childbirth Educator, and former Doula with a decade of dedicated practice. Prior to my work in lactation consulting and childbirth support, I spent 20 years as an Early Childhood Educator, fostering a deep understanding of infant & child development and family dynamics.
I founded Brim because I believe families deserve care that honors the full experience of feeding and parenting, not just the textbook version. As a neurodivergent parent and practitioner, I understand the importance of support that feels accessible, respectful, and adaptable. My approach is trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming, rooted in lived experience as well as professional training. I offer clear, compassionate care to families in the Comox Valley and virtually across North America.
I also enjoy working with perinatal professionals around Vancouver Island and beyond, offering professional development workshops on current best practices in infant feeding.
I have two boys of my own. One born in hospital, one born at home. When I’m not working, I’m performing in musical theatre, volunteering as a First Aid attendant for my son’s Football Club, hiking, boating, or camping with my family.
